Save More Energy - Daylight Harvesting + Photocell Sensor

Time:2024-03-19 Views:1

One of the advantages of using smart lighting systems is energy savings. Smart sensors or controllers can allow lamps to automatically adjust their brightness to maximize energy consumption. The sensors used in TIOSL smart lighting systems combine daylight Harvesting and photocell sensor functions to help lamps adjust brightness and save more energy.

Daylight Harvesting

Daylight harvesting is an energy management technique used to reduce the need for artificial lighting in buildings by utilizing natural light. It involves automatically adjusting the levels of artificial lighting in response to the amount of natural sunlight entering a space.

TIOSL smart lighting control system typically includes light sensors that make the brightness of the light will be automatically adjusted according to the intensity of the natural light exterior, which can save energy consumption while always keeping the interior brightness constant. For example, on a sunny day, the system might dim or turn off artificial lights, taking advantage of the sunlight to illuminate the space. On a cloudy day or at night, it would increase the artificial lighting to maintain a consistent lighting level.

Photocell Sensor

A photocell, also known as a photoelectric cell, is an electronic device that generates electricity or changes its electrical resistance in response to changes in light intensity.

Freely Set the Lux Value

The lux value can be set freely according to the environment to meet the different needs. When the sun light reaches the lux value you set, the light will be turned off, and when the sun light is lower than the lux value you set, the light will be turned on.

Works with Motion Sensor

After setting, the lights can be turned off during the day, and the lights will be turned on at night when someone triggers them, and the lights will go out when there is no one for a long time.

The smart sensor with daylight harvesting + photocell sensor is often part of a larger building automation system, including other energy-saving measures like occupancy sensors and climate control. It's used in various settings, including office buildings, schools, retail spaces, and other areas where lighting control can be effectively automated to save energy.
